Flowers: The First Disruptors

The hot buzz word in business right now is "disruptors."

These are the companies and individuals, taking a service or industry and flipping it on its head, creating new opportunities. The best example is how Netflix totally changed how we watch TV and movies.  It is amazing that just a few years ago we had to drive to Blockbuster to rent a new release for 4 bucks.

This idea of disruptors can also apply to the natural word, any fan of Charles Darwin can understand this on a biological and evolutionary level.

On a human level, flowers may have been the first disruptive technology to come along.

The eternal notion to pick a flower and give it to someone, is likely the first gift ever given or received by a human being, for non-survival purposes.  This act changed how we show someone we care forever.

Flowers are disruptors in the best possible way, bringing joy, delight and a smile where ever they go.

No wiz bang tech. out of Silicon Valley can pull this off, nor any politician or sports team.

There is no down side to flowers, no dangerous side effects, no chance of a health risk or a having a seizure.  OK, sure.. you may have an allergy to a certain type of bloom…but no one is allergic to all flowers!

Water is the most critical need for our bodies, perhaps flowers are the water for our soul, and sharing flowers is the definitive act of love and community.
